Reflective Blog Entry #2
Yesterday I volunteered at the DC for 4 hours, of that time I was managing the floor, giving directions, and putting away chairs. The first part of my service managing the floor, I was walking around for a few hours seeing if people needed help with any exhibits or finding their way around the DC. Although few admitted their neediness of my assistance (it was obvious they did), some responded and I was able to walk them through the steps of each exhibit they had questions on. After taking a quick 10 min. break, I moved onto cleaning up after the "Invent-Idaho" science fair. There were so many people at the DC that it was difficult to move around in some parts...there were science projects set up in every single room, illustrating different topics of mechanics, games, etc. After the winners were announced, all volunteers were told to store the chairs and tables in the storage closet. This was no small task as there were soooo many chairs. After finishing that task we were awarded with homemade ice cream, and I was on my way back home.
