Annotated Bibliography 3 (academic article)

Hill, Nancy E, and Lorraine C. Taylor. "Parental School Involvement and Children's Academic Achievement Pragmatics and Issues." Current Directions in Psychological Science. 13.4 (2004): 161-164. Print.

In this article Nancy Hill and Lorraine Taylor make a pointed discussion about the effects of parental involvement in schools and the relationship to academic success of their children. They relate multiple factors into this relationship including socioeconomic status, parental intent, duration and various cultural influences. Nancy Hill and Lorraine Taylor have both written numerous papers and conducted studies on children and the things that impact their psychological development. Their work speaks to the cultural aspects of parental influences on child development and interest in learning. This is important to my research topic as it is a direct reflection of the entire subject matter I am looking into.
