Website/audience Proposal

I will have a wide range of audience for my website. I will be explaining the why people should buy a mac over pc and why they should buy a pc over mac. There will be bias people of both categories looking at my website. People that only like pc. There will also be people that only like mac. Majority of the age of people that will look at my website will probably be 18-40. Reason for this anyone under the age of 18 won’t really be looking to buy a computer. Someone that uses computers more often than others might be more interested in this website. Companies will take a look at my website so they can figure out which type of computer to use for their company. Students that are first starting college will definitely want to see my website. Most college students are looking to buy a computer for college. All in all it’s hard to tell who exactly because almost everyone uses computers.

I will not need to have very much background talk about the topic. Majority of the people looking at the website are already familiar with computers. There are few technical terms that I would probably need to explain like graphics cards, processors, etc. I will do a little bit of background history on both companies of the website. That way people can see where they came from. Many people have no idea where mac or pc started. Other than those few topics people will be able to understand the rest.

I will probably have an audience of half and half. A lot of people won’t really care they just want the cheapest computer. That’s the part that a lot of people will be interested in is the money matters for each computer. There will definitely be a lot of people that would like to argue on certain parts. For example when I’m talking about pc being better then hardcore mac people will definitely never agree. Same as if I was talking about the mac being better. Those are the few arguments that people might have.

The main conversations my sources are having are the main arguments about pc and mac. For example pc is more vulnerable towards viruses. The argument against that is that 90% of people use pc and only 10% use mac. If you were a hacker would you rather make viruses for the minority or the majority? I would think the majority. There are some arguments about pricing of the two computers. The mac users say that they pay a higher price for a more reliable product but for pc most get a 1 to 3 year warranty that comes with it. Mac I have read typically gets 90 days if you don’t buy an extended warranty. There are tons of arguments about this topic I’m going to try to evaluate each one and talk towards both sides.

The way I’m going to capture my audience is simple. Websites that I go to have the title of “PC vs. Mac” or “why mac is better” or “why pc is better.” For my title I’m going to put “PC vs. Mac find the computer that fits your needs.” I think this will bring in some audience. I believe this will work because when I look at why mac is better I just think of some bias website. PC vs. Mac is a good title but so many people have used that already.

My part is easy I’m going to explain to my audience why both machines are excellent. It just depends on what you like out of your machine and how you will use it. Of course if you are going to be playing video games all the time I would definitely recommend a pc. PC is very customizable making it easy to make an excellent and cheap gaming pc. Mac on the other hand can be very expensive getting the best hardware. Reason I’m not talking about why pc is better is because in some cases mac is better than pc. It’s the reason your using it is what makes it better.
